Instagram Reel Script Generator
Get a hook-first Reel script with beats, on-screen text and a CTA.
Most Reels that flop don't fail on editing. They fail in the first two seconds, before anything interesting happens. This free Instagram Reel script generator starts with the hook, then builds a short script around it: a few timed beats that keep the story moving and a call to action to finish.
Each part comes with what to say out loud and a suggestion for on-screen text, so the Reel still makes sense to people scrolling with the sound off. Describe your idea, pick a tone, and you'll have something you can film from in seconds. If you only need a stronger opening line, the hook generator gives you several to choose from.
After filming, write the caption with the caption generator and schedule the Reel with PostJay's Instagram scheduler. Making the same video for TikTok? The TikTok script generator writes scripts in TikTok's style.
Frequently asked questions
What does a Reel script from this tool look like?
It's laid out in sections: a hook for the first few seconds, three or four numbered beats with rough timestamps, and a closing call to action. Each section has the line to say and a suggestion for on-screen text, written for a Reel of about 30 to 45 seconds.
Why does the script include on-screen text?
Plenty of people watch Reels with the sound off, especially while scrolling in public. Short text overlays carry the main point for them and give everyone something to read while you talk. Keep overlays clear of the bottom of the frame, where the caption and buttons sit.
Can I use the script for a faceless or voiceover Reel?
Yes. Read the spoken lines as a voiceover over B-roll, product shots or screen recordings, and use the on-screen text as captions. Mention in your description that it's a voiceover Reel and the tone will fit better.
Is it free?
Yes, with no signup. Anonymous visitors get a few generations a day. Edit the script into your own words before you film, because it'll sound more natural and match how you actually speak.
